Hey there! My name is Jamie and I am 21 years old. I am only child and I have two dogs, and a cat. I live with my mom and love it very much. I am a junior at the University of Colorado at Denver majoring in Nursing. This is my last semester of pre-reqs and then once I get back from the World Race I will apply, be accepted and then attend nursing school. I goal and desire is to be a full-time missionary nurse when I am older.
Here is a little bit of my testimony:
I did not really grow up in a church. But my family called ourselves Christians. When I was 12, a friend from school invited me to her church and I have been going ever since. I eventually got my parents to begin attending the church as well. I went to an Acquire the Fire event through Global Expeditions, and through there is where I officially gave my life to the Lord. And have been on fire for Him ever since. Due to this fire, I decided to sign up for a mission trip to see what all the excitement was about. I signed up to go to Botswana in the summer of 2007. I was living life fine and then one night in December of 2006, my Dad passed away from a sudden heart attack. It tore my world apart. I was not really close to my mom and to lose my Dad made me feel alone and scared. I wasn't sure what to do. And honestly, turning to God didn’t really cross my mind. I still went on the mission trip, basically because it was all paid for. And during that trip, God didn’t really show up for me until the end. But when He did I knew it. And I realized that the night my Dad passed away. God was there. He was holding me. I remember that night was like sleeping on a cloud. It was because God was there, holding me in His arms. Comforting me. After this, I have given my life fully to God and His plan for me. I went on another mission trip to Costa Rica and then on another to Peru and after that, I knew I was called to be a missionary. To reach out. To help those who are hurting and lost to turn to God just as I did.
God has blessed me continually in my life whether I realize it or not. I am super excited to embark on this journey to serve Him in 11 different countries for 11 months. I know that great things are going to happen and that God is going to be revealed and glorified in each place that my team goes to. I hope that you will join me in prayer for myself and my team and for those we will meet in each country. God has great things planned for those who are obedient.
