Well, this is it! I leave for Atlanta tomorrow, where my World Race launch begins, with me flying out from there early next week. By this time next week, I’ll be in Costa Rica, which is where I’ll spend my first month. After making several cuts and filling spaces like a boss, I got my life to fit into these two packs (below), which I will be traveling around the world with for the next 11 months.
It’s been a very intense month of balancing preparation and time with loved ones. Tomorrow will likely be one of the more difficult days in this journey as I say goodbye to most of my family and my boyfriend Keith, who have all been amazingly supportive throughout this process. I dread this part of it all as I know how much we will all miss one another. I cried like a baby just saying goodbye to my dog, Kai, earlier this week, so I can only imagine how tough tomorrow will be.
However, I’m also looking forward to getting this trip started as I know that’s when I will begin to see what this has all been about, what it all should be about. I know what I’ll be gaining by going is so much more than anything I might be losing, and that is what I’m excited about.

I don’t have many details on what exactly our ministry will look like yet, but I do know that my team will be in Jaco, a city on the Pacific Coast. I don’t know how we lucked up and got the only beach site for that month, but I’m pretty happy about that 🙂 The only potential downside is that we will be arriving in Jaco during its peak rainy season….and will be outside in tents the whole month. However, even this comes with a silver lining as the rain should cool down the temperature nicely.
Each month, I’ll be keeping you all posted on where I’m at and what ministry/ministries my team is involved with, as well as including some interesting stories and facts about the culture, food, etc. I’m sure there will be prayer requests and testimonies throughout each month as well.
If you are not already subscribed to this blog, but wish to receive updates on my trip, just hit the subscribe for updates link on my blog home page and enter your email or phone number. If you are confused about how to do this and want me to do it instead, simply email me your info and I’ll get you signed up for it.

My phone will not have service once I leave, so I’ll be communicating primarily through email, Facebook and my blog, when there is wifi available. I’ll also let you know what my wifi access looks like once I’m settled in each country. Please don’t hesitate to contact me while I’m gone with anything, from questions to simple hellos. I may not always be able to respond immediately, but I promise I will respond, and I’m sure I will enjoy reading messages from each of you while I’m away.
I don’t feel that I will ever properly be able to thank everyone that has been involved in financially supporting me, praying for me, encouraging me, helping me, sharing about my trip, etc. God has used each and every one of you to send me on this journey to share His Word and love with the nations. In my mind, this is our journey together. THANK YOU so much for your love and support! Please keep in touch and continue to pray for me and the loved ones I am leaving behind as I move forward.
