So, there are many religions in the world, are there not? And there are even more “gods”, aren’t there? Why should our God be any different from theirs?
I’ve been compelled to tell the wonderful things that God has done for us through His Son Jesus Christ. This serves not just as a reminder for you, the reader, but also as a reminder and study for myself. I’ll be interacting with many people of different religions, and I’m confident that 100% of them are works-based religions, where their god says, “Here’s the rule: Do more good than evil and I’ll love you and let you in to heaven. Here are my laws. Follow them. Now you’re on your own. Good luck.”
Let me tell you about what our God and Savior Jesus Christ has done for us:
From the Book of Romans:
1:5 – We have received grace through Him.
3:24-25 – By the grace of God we are justified freely through faith in the atoning blood of Christ.
5:2 – Through Him we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.
5:8 – While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
5:9 – We have been justified by His blood, and through Him we shall be saved from God´s wrath.
5:11 – Through Him we have received reconciliation.
6:4 – We were buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as He was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
6:5 – If we have been united with Him like this in His death, we will certainly also be united with Him in His ressurection.
6:11 – We were dead in sin but have made alive to God in Christ Jesus.
6:18 – We have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.
6:23 – We have the gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus.
8:1 – There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.
8:34 – Christ Jesus is at the right hand of God and is interceding for us.
8:38-39 – Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!
From the Book of Hebrews:
1:3 – HE provided purification for our sins.
2:3 – HE was the first to announce salvation.
2:9 – HE tasted death for us.
2:11 – HE makes us holy.
2:14 – HE shared in our humanity.
2:15 – HE frees those held in slavery by the fear of death.
2:17 – HE made atonement for our sins.
2:18 – HE is the source of eternal salvation.
6:20 – HE has gone before us.
7:25 – HE is able to save completely those who come to God through Him.
7:27 – HE offered HIMSELF as a sacrifice for our sins.
9:15 – HE is the ransom that frees us from sin.
9:28 – HE was sacrificed to take away our sins and HE will bring salvation to us who are waiting for him.
10:10 – We are made holy once for all by the sacrifice of HIS body.
10:14 – By HIS sacrifice HE has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.
10:19 – We have confidence to enter heaven by HIS blood.
12:2 – HE is the author and perfecter of our faith.
13:12 – HE makes us holy by HIS own blood.
What a loving and intimate God who has worked salvation for us by the power of His own hand! And what loneliness it must be to believe in any other! I can not sit and debate with someone why the Christian faith is superior to their religious beliefs, but let me tell you about our God and what He’s done for us, and how much He loves you and wants to you to just trust Him with your eternal life. Will you believe? He loves you and wants to give you the gift of eternal life! But just like any other gift it can not be given unless it is also accepted. Pray to God and accept His gift to you!
(Now I started with the Book of Hebrews because that’s where I am in my reading. As I go on I’ll add more scriptures to the list. Some of them may sound redundant, but we all need reminders!
