We hear thousands of sounds everyday of our life.

And thousands of sounds go in one ear and out the other. We have become so out of tune in our culture, that we don’t pay attention to what we are listening to.

We listen to thousands of sounds everyday, and the cries of the needy fall on deaf ears.

I think we need to slow down and actually pay attention to what we are listening to. To listen to what we hear, and hear what we listen to.
I talked last time about this ocean we will be plunging into. Waves of people crashing their pleas onto us. I showed a picture of footprints walking right into the water and disappearing. I think if we are not careful to listen on this trip, this is what will happen. I think that before even going into the water, we need to ask God to open our ears so that we may hear.

Psalms 4:1

Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; Be gracious to me and hear my prayer.

Psalms 4:3

But know that the LORD has set apart the godly man for Himself; The LORD hears when I call to Him.

Peace.
