History: Gained independence from the British in 1962.
Economy: Substantial natural resources. Agriculture is the most important sector, employing over 80% of the workforce. Coffe provides bulk of export revenues.
Problems: Armed fighting among ethnic groups. Hosts over 250,000 refugees from Sudan, Congo and Rwanda. Draining wetlands for agricultural use, deforestation, overgrazing, soil erosion and poaching.
Capital: Kampala, population 1.535 million (2009)
Area: 93,065 square miles, slightly smaller than Oregon

Our ministry host for the month is Reverand Aloysius Ntege. He is the senior pastor of Cornerstone Community Church. Over teh course of this month we will be teaching various subjects and various grades at Cornerstone Community School, a private school run by the church adn located in the Kampala suburb of Bunamaya. We will also be visiting other local schools and univrsities and leading church services for the students there. We will participating in worship services at Cornerstone Community Church through preaching and singing as well as going door to door in the local community sharing the Gospel and praying for and with those that want it.
