Yesterday training ended. We have been in New Zealand for 5 days now, and man, I don’t
even have words to describe to y’all how amazing it has been. The sun comes up
around 5:30-6ish and sets around 9:00 p.m. The days are abnormally long. The sky is bluer, the earth is greener, the world is just brighter
here. Everywhere you look you’re surrounded by a painting: a beautiful picture
of God’s creation and love. But
there is a down side to the scenery…all of our sinuses are out of control; every
one of us is sniffling and stuffed up.
A small price to pay!
So for the last 5 days we’ve been preparing to bring life
and truth into 11 nations for the next year. No small task to get ready for. As expected then, these past few days have been intense to
say the least. But God showed up
and gave us a confidence and an authority to boldly go into the nations and
bring life with us. Though a few
of us are unsure or hesitant about how to be used by God in big ways, I am
continually reassured that God works in us despite ourselves. Just yesterday, as we took a three hour
bus ride from Matamata to Manukau, I listened to a girl speak encouragement and
love into a teammate of mine despite just meeting her. This girl was struggling to believe
that she could hear God and that God could speak through her in this
manner. Yet I listened to
her speak truth directly into the heart of my teammate. I love it! God is here and He is with
us for this journey. The vision He
has for us on this race is almost scary, it’s so big!
Speaking of vision we arrived yesterday in Manukau, New
Zealand. This is our ministry site
and our home, sweet home for the rest of the month. We are staying at Pastor Tony’s house and running a camp for
the Mauri and Polynesian youth for the next two weeks. We are also running Kids
Church this Sunday and the whole service the following Sunday while also
helping with the construction of the new church building. There’s a lot to do and enormous potential
for ministry and love for these people. I can’t wait, we start tomorrow!
