This is a blog to inform everyone about a wonderful opportunity to directly impact some Christian kids in Sielmat, India and the surrounding villages through child sponsorship!
Over the course of the month my team and I were in Sielmat, we had the opportunity of visiting the Sielmat Christian Higher Secondary School as well as other smaller schools in the remote mountain villages. SCHSS has a total of 2600 kids in attendance. The ones I visited farther up in the mountain villages of Lungthulien, Parbung, and Senvon have fewer and are much poorer and remote; they are also under the Bibles for the World umbrella.
Many of the students in these schools are supported by people back in the states who want to see these kids who could otherwise never afford the monthly dues, receive a quality education and be taught from the Word of God. Please consider sponsoring one of these children!
As I said above I had the opportunity of teaching at SCHSS in Sielmat and also at the Christian schools in the villages of Lungthulien, Parbung, and Senvon. I can attest to the quality of these schools. I have taught in and visited many schools over the past 8 months and I’ve never seen such happy, bright, well-behaved students! And they are learning the love of Jesus in addition to their formal education! I was always amazed and humbled every time I sat up on stage during school visits to receive wonderful presentations of welcome and thankfulness from the student body! On one memorable occasion in a school in Parbung a precious little girl of maybe three or four stood up in front of the class and beautifully and courageously sang “Jesus loves me” for us. The brightness of these children is a testament to the faithful, strong teachers of the remote villages which have responded to a calling and subjected themselves to the meager pay, isolation, and uncomfortable circumstances to do all they can to bring these children up in the way they should go.
Please pray about sponsoring one of these children, especially the ones in the remote villages of Parbung, Lungthulien, and Senvon. I and three others spent four days in Lungthulien visiting with the head mistress, teachers, and students there. While we were there we made short excursions to Parbung and also to Senvon. Senvon is the famous village in the movie Beyond the Next Mountain which you should be sure to watch!
Go to the Bibles for the World website at : http://bftw.org and click on Sponsorship if you would like to sponsor a child. If you would like to sponsor a child from a specific village, please email me at [email protected] . Thank you all so much! God is doing great things in these villages! It was truly a privilege to be a small part of what He is doing there!!
