Many people have asked me “Jamal, what have you been learning since you’ve been on the race?”
It’s a very difficult question to answer because I’ve learned so much but I’ve managed to capture a few on camera.
Future racers, take note….
1) Don’t assume everyone understands phrases like “gimme five.” It’s humiliating when you’re rejected by a 6 year-old kid.

2) Hair doesn’t mean as much as you think it does. Regardless to what your friends think (in the background), your smile always radiates your true beauty!

3) Any mode of transportation to get to work is GREAT transportation.

4) Child safety…what is that!?

5) Cabbage and candy = a GREAT Christmas!!

6) “O Le Le” is the greatest game ever invented!

7) If for some odd reason, you can’t make it to the restroom, it’s ok to go where you are currently standing.

8) They have genius’ living in Swazi. Give them a brick and some dirt and you have a group of civil engineers building the next highway system.

9) A church service that lasts for 6 hrs in another language can be…very interesting!

10) Sour porridge is VERY SOUR (take note of the face)! A LOT of sugar will change how it tastes.

11) If you fell on the dirt and have a thorn in your hand, don’t be afraid to ask for help getting it out. Many people will volunteer to use their teeth to take it out. The community is great!

12) Swazi has awesome storms!!
