Bright and early Thursday morning my dad dropped me of at the airport in Fargo. I flew down to Georgia where I met up with the rest of my team. There are 12 girls on our team, and 2 leaders. We have spent the last couple of days at the World Race base here in Georgia at “training camp,” learning and training for what we can expect in the next 3 months. As I write this, I am sitting in an airport in South Korea waiting for our last flight to Cambodia! We will then take a bus to the village that we will be living in.
I am more nervous than I would like to admit… The past couple days have been tough. I know that three months is not terribly long, but right now it feels like forever. I miss my family, friends, and the comfortability of home.
On the other hand, I have experienced an abundance of new and exciting things in the past couple of days, and I cannot wait to take that to the people I will meet. At moments when I questioned my ability to do this, God used the encouraging words of people around me to remind me that it isn’t my strength that I am working out of, but His (Psalm 28:7). I genuinely am so grateful for this opportunity to go and serve.
I wanted to keep this first post short-ish, so I’ll leave you with some prayer requests.
PRAISES:
-I am fully funded thanks to so many incredible supporters!
-Great first couple of days with my team, they are so much fun
-God’s goodness to place so many encouraging people in my life
PRAYER REQUESTS:
-Continued peace about leaving family, friends, and the US
