This is probably a bit premature, since I haven't finished it yet. But outside of the Bible, it is already my new favorite book. Many of you have probably already read it, as it's a very popular and highly influential book, but it the case that some haven't, I am recommending it.
Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis.
Most of you have probably heard of the book, and possibly most have already read it. But even if one person who reads this hasnt read it and decides to, its worth it.
Its actually four books in one, and is a collection of radio broadcasts Clive Staples Lewis had done. Its rather short and to the point, but its incredibly thought provoking and to me is actually a difficult book to read. Ive read and re-read each word at least twice, but more likely four to five times. If I was to read this book without going back to re-read what Ijust read to try and get a better understanding, I would get nothing from it. I would have been done with it by now. It uses plenty of analogies, and gets into good philisophical theology, one of my favorite topics to read about.
I have a hard time putting it down, and while there have been quite a few books that I couldnt stop reading in this past, this one has a special intrigue to it.
So yeah, if you haven't read it yet, READ IT. Take it slow, and re read sections at a time. So far it has been an awesome book for me. Its not Holes. Its not the Screwtape Letters.
