I'm not exactly sure what I should blog about, I just feel like blogging; so I'm sure that means random rambling for about 60 to 85% of the post.
it's July 1st, which means training camp is less than TWO weeks away. Oh my where has that time gone. I'm still playing it cool, not really thinking too much about it, focusing on work and on mink, and acting like I still have a lifetime to actually prep, pack, and plan for it. What a fool I am. But hey its the way I sort of am- blissful in delusion by absentmindedness. I'm still alive so I must be doing something right. Or God is really watching out for me.
Preparation for these sorts of things for me seems to always go the same way: wait until the last second to think about it and miraculously rally the troops and end up with seemingly exactly what I need. I typically don't take more than 20 minutes to pack. I don't really plan for anything either, I just go with the flow, which I hear is a good attribute to have on the race. Even on my drive down to Oklahoma I didn't think ahead to what I'd actually be doing on the trip; I just focused on the drive and about now much I was enjoying the trip. I even thought about how nice the drive back was going to be, completely overlooking the main thing. When I got to OKC, I was like, 'oh yeah, this is where the trip ends.', as if the drive was the whole point of going. Man I have some interesting thoughts sometimes.
On an AWESOME note, I currently have 13,359 dollars in my account! How sweet is that? So many generous people to thank, it's incredible. God can do some awesome things through us all. I'm hoping to be fully funded by launch in September, which has been my goal since I first signed up. It seemed rather daunting, but God doesn't fail. He is the man.
I'm also almost completely good to go on vaccinations. All I need is the second shot for Hep A right before I leave and the last of four pills to give me immunity to Typhoid that I will take tomorrow. Since my insurance was cool enough to cover all the shots, I went big. I also received Yellow Fever, japanese encephalitis, rabies, polio booster, meningococcal booster, and Tdap vaccines.
So here I sit, about ten days before I leave here to head to training camp. I am stopping along the way in Fondy, STL and Knoxville to pick up a few girls, so we'll see how the ride goes this time around. Excitied to go? Extremely. Nervous? No. Not yet, anyways. I have a feeling that God has big things on the way in Georgia. I just pray it isn't too hot.
