So how has it been, you ask? Well, before coming to camp, I
knew one of the main objectives was to ‘clean house’ in a sort of way; to
remove anything and everything in our lives that might stand in the way of our
mission. Because I’m a fairly touchy-feely person, I was pretty stoked about
this aspect of the experience, only I hadn’t considered that I might have built
some of my own walls between me and God. I was in for a shocker during the
first night of worship. God has broken me down, and to be fair, with my
permission. I must trust that, as he builds me back up, it will be into someone
so much more beautiful than I was before. This idea is simple, but not easy. It
involves a lot of work, and a lot of little good decisions every day.

My squadmates are completely awesome, and today we will be
put into our small teams that we will start the race with. Tuesday was
‘moving day’ at training camp, which meant all of us had to pair up and share
one pack to as we headed out to spend a nite under the stars. I was completely
amazed by how quickly we built shelters, fire, and prepared dinner, and by the
positive attitude I saw all around me from a lot of previously ‘non-outdoorsy’
people. Here’s a photo we all took while we were in the wilderness:

Thank you all so much for your support; it is such an incredible
blessing to be here.
