Hey everyone it’s Jake Teachey!

I have decided to sway from the traditional straight from high school to college route, and am taking a year off. I will be spending next year on the World Race Gap year through Adventure in Missions, an interdenominational missions organization that focuses on discipleship. I will be traveling to 5 different countries over 9 months. These countries include Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Ethiopia, Nepal, and the Philippines. In these countries we are going to be working with pre-established organizations. I will be doing everything from working with orphans to teaching English. I leave in September of 2016, and will come home June of 2017. I am so excited to see how the Lord is going to work with me this next year, and to discover how the Lord is already working in these many places of need.

I will have a blog next year, which you can access at http://jaketeachey.theworldrace.org. This is where you will be able to follow my journey while I am away. I will be posting photos and other entries to keep everyone updated. I want to ask you guys for your prayers, because none of this would be possible without such a generous and loving God. I know a lot of you have already been praying, I want to thank you. It really does mean so much to me.

For this mission to be possible I have to raise $14,806. This will cover my entire cost for the next nine months. If you feel led to donate in anyway you can donate through the attached website.

“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to be fishers of men.” Matthew 4:19
