TEAM TONKA!!
Now before I introduce my awesome team members to you, let me explain the name a bit.
So, at training camp we were told one afternoon to go out and make a memory with our new team. So as a team we decided to go bowling. After bowling one game we decided to play a basketball game in the arcade and then put together all of our tickets and see if we could get a prize. After putting all of our 50 something tickets together we began looking through the prizes. At this point we hadn’t chosen a name for out team yet and someone decided that whatever prize we got, that should be the name of our team. As we were scrolling through the prizes in the machine we saw a yellow truck, it wasn’t necessarily a Tonka truck but it looked like it. After a some deliberation we decided that we should get the Tonka truck, call ourselves team Tonka, and have it as our mascot everywhere we went.
Once we decided on the name, we realized that it kind of had no significant meaning behind it. So we decided that we could come up with an acronym that would give it a significant meaning. We threw out a few ideas and the final one that we came up with is…drumroll please!

Now, let me take some time to introduce to you the incredible people that I get to serve along with for the next however many months God permits! In no particular order, here is Team TONKA!

I am so blessed to have this awesome, adventurous couple on my team! The fact that they, as a married couple, would give up a whole year of their life comfortable married lifestyle to be totally uncomfortable and serve the Lord is quite an encouragement to me! I’m so blessed to have this rockstar couple who’s hearts are on fire for the Lord as a part of my family for the first portion of this journey!
Alicia Doran

Alicia’s heart for the Lord is just so evident in the way that she carries herself, I mean just look at that smile! I am so pumped to be serving side by side with her as she brings a sense of rest and relaxation to the team. Her trust in the Lord is untouchable and I just can’t wait to see how God is going to use that this year!
Jordan Vernon

Jordan is such a woman of God with a quiet spirit but is always down for adventure. As she abandons her friends and family back home I believe she still has such a faith that will shake her loved ones even when she’s gone and God is going to use that faith to shake nations through her this year!
Adri Montero

Adri is just so incredibly filled with the joy of the Lord and a passion to see His name be lifted high and made famous! It is such an encouragement to me to see how she just wants to share the love of Christ with anyone she comes in contact with! It really inspires me and I can’t wait to see her evangelistic love for Jesus reach out to the many nations we will be going to!

This dude right here is one extremely talented Man of God who desires to grow way outside of his comfort zone this year! A man who desires to be stretched beyond his limits so that he can rely on God to be his comfort! I’m so stoked to walking along side this dude and see what God will do in and through him this year!
