Sometimes you just can’t explain how God works.

This morning one of the LEAST expected things happened to me.

It started out as a normal day. I woke up, spent some time with Jesus, ate some breakfast, then left my host home to meet up with the team. We all hopped on the bus and started off on our trek to Missouri City, TX. Out of no where one of my teammates, Kerrionne, looked back at me and said, “How cool was that email from Holly this morning?!” And my first thought was, what email? Then not much later I received a text from Holly asking if the email had been shared yet. After I told her no and that I had no clue what the email was about she immediately forwarded it to me.

The subject of this email was, “SRT bringing someone to Christ all the way from BRAZIL!” So I was already pretty intrigued, but as I read on, I started to become completely awestruck. The email was from a young lady named Annabella who has been a missionary in Brazil for the past 2 years working with prostitutes and trying to help them get out of prostitution. She explained that she was just recently on a trip home to the States to visit family and how she was stuck in an airport in Texas. While she was stuck in the airport over night she met a young lady named Allison who had just recently attended a SRT event in Seguin, TX, which is an area where we recently experienced a lot of resistance from local media. When Annabella woke up in the morning she found that Allison was gone. After arriving back in Brazil and unpacking her luggage, Annabella found a note from Allison that said, “Annabella, here is my prayer list, please pray for: My family, I would ask you to pray for my friends but I have none, so I’m asking you to pray for the people who I look up too. The Silver Ring Thing Team and a guy I met by the name of Jake. But, especially Jake, he took the time to talk to me and that meant a lot because I have no friends. Pray that God will bless him and also the rest of the team. They are on Facebook and Instagram. Thank you in advance. Allison.”

Now hold up! I don’t even know what to think about this. In all honestly, I was just doing what I always do, talking to people that are helping us out! Just trying to get to know people in the little amount of time that we spend in that particular city.

But WAIT! It doesn’t stop there! Nope not even close!

Annabella continued to explain that she has been mentoring a young lady name Riley for the past two years. Riley is nineteen years old and has two little girls, Bree and Amanda, and is expecting another baby. Unfortunately the only way that Riley is able to support her family is by prostitution. After two years of reaching out to this young mom, Annabella and her team could not think of anything else they could personally do to help her get out of prostitution and decided to just leave it up to God. Well now, through her, in my opinion divine, encounter with Allison, she was introduced to the Silver Ring Thing and decided to share it with Riley! They started showing her videos and blogs to help her see how loved she is by God. And now, with much excitement, they can say that Riley is off the streets and they are currently working on getting everything together to get her to move to the States in May! And Annabella, Riley, and Allison will be attending our last show for the season on May 16th in Arnold, MO, which just so happens to be MY BIRTHDAY!! Talk about an incredible birthday present?!

Below is a picture of Annabella (top left), Riley (top right), and Riley’s two girls, Bree (bottom left) and Amanda (bottom right).

This is just honestly the most insanely, incredibly, amazingly divine encounter I have probably ever experienced. I find myself at such a loss for words and just completely awestruck! God knows when to put the most incredible things in your path to encourage you and let you know you must be doing something right!

If this doesn’t encourage you, you must be a robot!
