So I once again spent  the  weekend  at a youth camp for our Saturday Night Youth, which we have every year and it’s always awesome.  I love everyone in that place, seriously. So there I was on Friday night listening to the first session (which was at nine o’clock PM btw) that we had that weekend. And I’m listening to my good friend Kix (that’s just his nickname, his real name is Johnny) talk about all the things that Jesus is to us. Now while sitting there I just felt the need to pray.
So I prayed.
I missed pretty much the last half of his talk because I became so lost in prayer. That’s when a crazy idea popped into my head. “Hey, why don’t you go run around that big, empty field right there while you’re praying.” I just knew I had to do it, that kind of freedom has always been lacking in my life and now I just wanted to run around praising God while dancing like a madman.
So I did.
As soon as the session was over, I got up and told everyone what was gonna happen  and I ran out into that field singing and praising God like never before. That’s when the craziest thing started happening. While lost in worship I noticed that someone was walking towards me. When he got close enough I realized it was my good friend Isaak. All he said was “I need you to pray for me.”
So I did.
I began just praying over him like never before and I could feel the Spirit moving. It was so unbelievable! He walked back to the camp after and I again got lost in worship but this time with way more energy and excitement. That’s when I noticed another person walking toward me and I just knew that the Spirit had some work to do that night.
By the time midnight rolled around, I had lost track of the number of people I had prayed over. I walked back to the camp at about midnight ,totally exhausted. Apparently Spirit work can tire you out. But I get back to the campsite and every person that I prayed over came up to me and they all basically said the same thing. “That was exactly what I needed to hear, you have blessed me so much tonight.” Well that put a big ol’ grin on my face for sure.
God used what little I had and my willingness to surrender it to move into and work in other people’s lives.
I’m pretty sure that a little piece of Heaven invaded Earth that night, I’m still in awe of what God did that night. Because the next day a whole group of us were jumping around worshiping God utterly lost to the world. My trip may not have started yet but God isn’t gonna let me sit on the sidelines here at home.
The Spirit’s doing work, for serious!
