Romania has been an amazing month, a month that would set the tone for the entirety of the race. You see I went on the race expecting to serve all these people and change the world, little did I realize that in the first month of the race I would be the one who would be invested in and come out the other end completely changed. You see I saw what it means to be a man who walks in humility, who truly gives all the honor to God and fully trust that He will take care of everything. I got to experience how confrontation occurs among a body of believers and how to talk with others. Amazingly I was also got to see how years of prayer and hard work can bring forth God’s glory: getting to see a Church opening and see amazing people come. I also got to learn what it means to have a kingdom perspective, and keeping with the mindset that a full days work is worth more than anything if it means even one person coming into the kingdom.
Finally the last thing that I get the privilege to walk away with from my first month on the Race is a new best friend. God placed a man named Mihai into my life to supply me with a ton of great comfort and peace. You see Mihai became like an older brother to me. Explaining to me how he lived life and everything that he could teach me from his lessons. He was so real with me and just showed me what a Christian man looks like: getting to see him interact as a Church leader, family man and friend. Little did I know that God was going to break my heart this month, and break my heart for all the people in this land and let me love and be loved by those around me.
