Adventure days are a great highlight of the World Race experience. Six months into my race, and my team and I are consistently looking for crazy/amazing/adventurous stuff to do on our off-days. Occasionally you’ll feel a type of pressure to find the coolest and most unique experience you can in your country. You read blogs and see World Race re-posts of racers doing out-of-this-world adventures and want that experience as well.

But sometimes it is the simplest of ideas that lead to the most memorable days.

Today is my team’s adventure day. Last night we realized we had no clue what we were going to do today, and wanted to take advantage of our time here.

Not really knowing anything else to do, we decided to go the simple route.

We rented bikes for the day and rode them around our city. We were able to ride around a massive palace, witness the city’s culture, feel the breeze on our face, and have some incredible coffee.

This day is now one of my favorite adventure days so far.

So remember, you don’t always need to come up with unique and crazy ideas. Sometimes simple can be better.

And in the end, just make amazing memories with your team.

I’m off! Time to get back on our bikes and find some lunch.
