I made it to Guatemala, I’m here
I’m ready. I wanted to hit the ground running and just jump into the world race
with both feet and just go head first for what God wants me to do. Yet that’s not what’s going on, we got here
and got in our teams went out to eat and now relaxing and just spending time
with one another or spending time with the lord. I have felt anxious, like I
was being stagnate for coming here and not helping others. My feeling kept growing
and the anxiety was doing everything but going away. The more anxious the more
and more I wanted to be doing something. So I asked God why I had this feeling
why I was not being patient and not relaxing and enjoying this time to admire
this beautiful country that God has led me to. I then started becoming
frustrated with myself and making it worse. So I did the only thing that made
sense and opened up my bible and then dropped out a letter from my dad. The
letter was exactly what I needed it, my dad blessed me with encouragement and
guidance, but most of all in the letter he wrote down one of his favorite
versus, Philippians 4:6 and what does it say, I know the anticipation is
killing you so I’ll tell you. It says “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything
by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be known to God. ”
No matter where I am my dad is still teaching me. Today my dad taught me a
great lesson, even though I may think I’m ready to do what the lord has brought
me here to do, Its his timing that matters and he has in store for me some of
the most world wrecking beautiful things only he can show me. I don’t need to rush the lord I’m not going
to be able to so why on earth would I try. God has a plan for everyone and all we have to do is listen to his voice
and follow his word and he will give us what we can handle when we can handle
it. My anxiety is gone my frustration broken God is in Guatemala and its about
to get crazy powerful. That is something worth waiting for. Always be open to
teaching cause you never know when or how you will receive it but I promise you
if you look for the lord in everything, you will be taught something new every
day. As Christians what more could we
ask for.
