How do you know when you’re doing
something for God he is actually there? Is it when you have three boys who do
paint thinner all agree to stop completely, to go to school on a regular basis,
and to begin strengthening their walks with the lord? Or Is it when you meet
with one young man and you get him to began crying cause God has finally broken
him and he used you to achieve that. These are just two of the ways you know
God is working through what you’re doing, and I was fortunate enough to see
both of those things come to light yesterday. We went to Los Pinos yesterday to
have a meeting with the family that Tony works with, Josue, Carlos, Fernando,
Cristopher, and the mom Lillian. We have been working with this family and
loving these boys as if they were our own family. But it was time to step it up
a notch to take our love to another level to really begin pushing these boys to
challenge them in their walks cause as Christians we are suppose to be
challenged and to challenge one another. We went there and Tony had three rules
he wanted them to follow if they wanted us to continue helping them. The rules
were to go to school every day, To continue going to church and to begin
pushing their walk with God to a new level, and for Fernando, Cristopher, and Josue
to quit doing drugs. Tony said this was it no more will you allow these drugs
to run your lives, or to be in charge of you.  They all without hesitation agreed to all of
it, the mother Lillian began talking about her feelings about how she wanted to
change her life as well. She began crying and when she started our translator
started crying, her son Cristopher started crying which hit our group and some
of the people on our teams started crying. God was at work in everyone’s hearts
in that room. After the meeting had ended I was asked to close in prayer and
before I did I prayed to myself that the words that came from my mouth would be
of the lord and not of me for my words will fall on deaf ears, but his words
will reach the hearts of everyone and keep his presence with us as we continued
his work

When we had all gotten down to the
car Tony Henry and I walked up to the colegio so that we could talk to Henry.
As tony spoke in Spanish I began to put his sentences together which is all due
to the lord for my Spanish is more than awful.  As Tony kept talking I felt Henrys heart
soften I could by his face that there
was a battle ragging inside this young 17 year olds heart. When it came time
for me to say something to Henry the lord just put a phrase on my mind that
Pappy said to us “LOVE WINS” I knew that Henry needed to know he was loved. His
mom tells him she doesn’t want him she doesn’t love him, his aunt wants to kick
him out so he works to pay her and his mom so he doesn’t live on the streets.
Henry is need of someone to love him unconditionally. I told Henry the image of
the Christian man God he is to become that the lord has shown me. I told him
that I would forever be his brother on earth and in heaven, but most
importantly that God wants him that God loves him more than anyone else ever
could. As tony translated Henry began crying and when I finished he grabbed my
hand he pulled himself into my arms and began crying heavily as I wrapped him
in my arms. Tony said to me as I held Henry “this is how I know God works
through us, moments like these.” That’s how I know God is at work that’s how I know
Gods love is for everyone.
