Well Friday night was prolly the
most fun I have had this trip so far. Tony, the owner of the house were staying
at had a party for the Family he is ministering to, and the town of El Horno
which is the town in Honduras were staying at. All in all there was thirty five or so people there, and cause of Tony’s
relationship with the people they let their guard down and since we were
associated with him they played and laughed with us.
The family he is ministering to is
a family of a mom a grandma and three boys, Cristo, Jose and Fernando. All three boys ages 11 to 14 do the drug of
choice out here which is huffing paint thinner. But Tony is slowly getting them
to start being clean little by little. Tony’s ministry is something that is
inspiring me more and more each day. Back home our approach to ministry is ok
ill meet with you every Tuesday for a few hours, but Tony has showed me the
flaws in that if we take that approach, ya maybe for Tuesday were focused on
what were doing you may even feel that way on Wednesday, but what happens the
other five days. The disciples were with Jesus every day being taught and
ministered to, we have to take that approach. We cant just do it once a week we
have to call one another just to call, and when we ask hey how are you we need
to mean it. When someone says oh I’m fine push deeper, get to the bottom of their
barrel so they can hide anything from you. We have to be better at discipling
one another and ministering to those who God has put in our life. If we are to
be a generation of change then first we have to look into ourselves so that we
can be changed by God, so we can change others. Seeing these boys and starting
a relationship and seeing the love they have for Tony shows me that this
approach works, God has put me here with Tony so I can learn and be taught by
this man of God and be changed. The only person who can receive credit for that is God for he knows our hearts and knows
what we need.
