Have you ever had a dream for your
life, something you wanted to be like a fireman or a police officer maybe even
an astronaut? You would pretend in your room that your dream was a reality and
you were a fireman rescuing his G.I. Joes or Barbies from a burning building.
You would make a cardboard box in a space ship and fly off to unknown areas of
space with Captain Kirk and Spock. No
matter your age you have had a dream profession maybe you’re doing that now or
your still working for it. But at one time
or another you know what I’m talking about.

Since I was about 17 I have wanted
to be a youth pastor, I have read my bible and talked out loud in my room
pretending I was in front of a church and preaching that Sunday’s sermon. That for a Sunday all the youth were
listening to what God was saying through me. That I was His vessel, and that
His spirit was filling a room and moving through young people’s lives, as He
spoke His word through me.

                On
Wednesday I was able to fulfill my dream, I gave the weekly youth group lesson.
The whole week I was a nervous mess inside I kept going over my notes and kept
worrying about what if I don’t do well what if my dream is wrong and it’s not
what God has in store for my life. But before I started talking as my nerves were
at an all time high Linda one of contacts prayed over me and put my mind right
this message was not about me at all. It was not about if I was going to be
good if my notes were right or if I was meant to be a youth pastor. This time
was for God to speak through me and teach His children I’m only a vessel I cant
make a the kids want to hear the word of God.

                After
Linda prayed for me and I had my mind straightened out I went up and taught on
Acts 18 verses 1-22. The focus was on encouragement through fear, and how we
cant achieve that unless we have a community to be centered around. As the Lord gave me His words He wanted the
youth to hear, the kids got quieter and quieter, until my voice was all that
was heard in the room. Some of the kids started crying and others started
staring at the ground and you could tell they were thinking about what ever it
was God was speaking to them individually. As it came time where my notes had
ended and I didn’t have anything else to say, all of sudden the Lord told me
that I needed to have my team pray over them, His children were hurting and its
time for them to start being a community. So I asked them if they could all
close their eyes and pray and as they were praying if they would raise their
hands so my team could come pray over them.

                One boy
raised his hand and then another until my entire team was praying for youth and
tears were running into Gods hands and you could see the Holy Spirit moving in
that room. The Lord was there he used me as His vessel for His word to be
spoken. What an honor that was, what a spiritual high.

I was able to live out my dream and
now I’m pushing for that dream more than ever. I pray for all of you that you
don’t give up on your dream that you keep going after it. But as you do go after
it make sure your doing two things, (1) make sure your walking with God as you
walk towards your dreams. (2) Make sure that when you achieve that dream you
give all the glory and praise to God for cause of His glory we are able to go
after our dreams. Be encouraged by his word and be encouragement to others
around you for if we are not a community of believers than,  WHAT IS THE POINT. We
can’t fail one another we need to be there with a shoulder to lean on for
others as God is there for us to lean on.
