Moldova was such a great month, not my favorite by any means but still a good month. When I think about Moldova there are a few stories that come to mind and I would like to share with you.
Our main ministry was playing with the children every day. Most of these children are Orthodox and don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus. Each day we would go to the soccer field and we would share a story from the Bible before we played soccer. One day after the story Emily asked for the children to come to the center if they needed prayer for healing. There were a handful that came to the center, a boy with a broken arm, a girl with an injured knee and a couple of kids with colds. My team along with the children laid hands on these kids and not only was my team praying to God aloud but the children were also praying out loud. It was so cool to see the children praying for each other.
Our translator Oxana was absolutely amazing. She is 25 years old, married and has one son named Vasili. Her husband is in Russia working and only left her with very little money to live on for the month. Oxana was praying that God would provide her with enough money to live on for the month and here we came. A team who was able to pay her for translating for us. My team was an answer to prayer, how cool is that.
I was also able to check something off my bucket list this month. On the way home from town one day my team leader Tom and I decided that we were going to hitchhike home. This is very dangerous in America but is very excepted here in Moldova and so we went. We left the team, crossed the street and I started to wave random cars down about the fourth car that I waved at actually stopped and pulled over. We ran over asked if he could take us home and he gave us the hand wave of get in the car. The guys name was Vasilli and he was a politician that lived in the capitol of Moldova. Tom and I were very proud that we completed our goal of hitchhiking.
This month for me was God allowing me to practice walking in obedience to Him. About one week into the month God told me to give my computer to our contact Sergui. Sergui’s family has a computer that is 30 years old and runs slower than dial up internet. God told me that I could bless him with my computer and so I was obedient and left my computer with Sergui. He was completely speechless it was so good to obey God and be able to bless a family that truly needed it.
I will post more pictures of Moldova when I get home and will be posting some videos. So stay tuned!!
Love
Jaime
