From Jinja we had about a 2 hour bus ride to Kampala
which is were our Uganda contact lives.
His house is actually about 20 minutes from the city. Our contacts name is Pastor Alloyseous he is
married to Peace and has I think 7 children.
The ones that live here with us are Samuel, Deborah, Rachel, Ronnie,
Martha and Joseph was here but left for University in Kampala. I absolutely love this family and am so
blessed to be living with them.
Once again we have legit living conditions
this month. The girls sleep in one
bedroom with a three bunk high bunk bed and a 2 bunk high bunk bed. I sleep on the bottom bunk of the 2 high bunk bed. The guys are sleeping in a separate room and each have their own bed.
The “shower” is inside the house and it is another basin and
scoop! I am now a professional at taking
basin showers HaHa! The
“toilet” or should I say squatty potty is outside. Let me just inform you that there is no seat
on this one. So I have officially used
my first squatty potty. In the back yard
there are 4 chicken coops and inside there are at least 300 chickens no
joke! I have gotten use to there
clucking. Thank goodness there are no
roosters! We get to eat fresh eggs all
the time. I have taught peace how to
make scrambled eggs and I have also taught her how to make french toast. I have been doing a lot of cooking while I
have been here. They cook over a
charcoal stove thing and I was joking with them that when I get back to the
united states I am not going to know how to use an American stove.
We do not
have internet at the house we are staying at so we have to use internet cafes
and the electricity has been off more than it has been on HaHa so I am getting
blogs up as much and as soon as I can.
There is more to come!!
Love Jaime
