What a birthday it was!!! It was such a great day, probably one of the best birthdays ever!!! It started with me waking up to find breakfast on the table along with a huge happy birthday hat that I was to wear. After eating breakfast we headed off to Pastor Freds church. Pastor Fred is a friend of Pastor our contact. When we got there the team split up because there were a few schools we were going to. Elaina and I stayed at the church and did a childrens program for elementary age kids. We did the story of Noah and the Ark and played a pretty sweet game where we pretended the stage was the ark and then we had the children pretend to be different animals and go onto the ark two by two. How can I forget that Elaina had them sing happy birthday to me! It was so cute…it is just like ours birthday song except they have a second verse that goes to the same tune saying “How old are you now?”. We then had the most delicious lunch of rice, cabbage, mashed potatoes, beef, cucumbers and pineapple. It was soooo good!! We then headed off to the internet cafe for a bit before we had to be there to go door to door. The dream team was back together HaHa. Elaina and I were partnered together for door to door. We are the dream team because we were partners during our first experience with door to door in Kenya. Door to door was awesome! We came to our first set of ladies that Pastor Fred wanted us to talk to. There names were Annette and Florence. As we started talking to them we realized that Annette was struggling with Gods love for her and believing who she is in Christ. My testimony fit perfect and I was able to share with her and give her some encouragement. The next lady we talked was and older women who had lost all of her children and was raising her grandchildren. Elainas testimony fit this lady’s struggle like a glove so she was able to share and encourage her. We continued walking and got to pray for random people on the street who where all suffering from headaches. It never fails no matter what, I always run into at least one person who needs healing. We stayed at Pastor Freds church for his midweek service. The worship was really good and the message was awesome. Elaina spoke on sharing your testimony and your stories. After almost a 12 hour day we finally made it back home. There was a birthday dinner waiting for us…I forget what we had but I do remember there was birthday cake!! Keep in mind I had to wear my birthday hat that they had gotten me for the whole evening. After cake There were several cards and two gifts to open. The cards were from our freinds that I have made here. One of the cards was from Pastor and his family and it had a gift in it. There was a necklace and a pair of earings in the envelope. Let me just tell you they are beautiful. The other gift was from crystal my team mate. It was a mixture of things that she gathered from her stuff from batteries to tissues to hairties. dinner was over and we were just sitting around talking when Elaina tells me to come with her so I get up and walk to the room with her. I thought she wanted to talk or show me somethhing but when we get in the room she was like look at our room what a mess. I knew that something was up but I didn’t know what. After she checked to see if things were ready a couple of times she finally told me to go to the kitchen. My team and our Uganda friends were standing outside in the dark and so I was told to go out there. I stepped outside and I think I said I am here! I heard a 1, 2, 3 and before I knew it I was soaked!!! They were all standing there holding glasses of water that they threw on me HaHa!!! I was totally suprised and loved it. I did get water in my ear though HaHa! It was so worth it 🙂 It was such a great day and I know I will never forget it! Thanks to my team and my Uganda friends it was the best and probably the most memerable birthday ever!! Love Jaime
