Wow, I have had to write sooooo many papers for school lately that the last thing I want to do is sit down and write a blog. However, I’m currently writing a paper on integrating my faith with the study of psychology and as I am writing the paper, I feel the need to start a blog.
It’s amazing what comes out on paper when you are free to talk and write about anything and are not restricted to a certain topic. I always find it hard to write what is actually going on in my mind but this paper has forced me to do just that. God obviously has a purpose for everything and perhaps as I am fulfilling a requirement for a class, He is also challenging me to dig deep about what has taken place in my heart over the last few years and how that has transformed me into the person I am today.
This blog doesn’t really have a focus but I’m hoping as I write this and the more I practice, the better I will become at organizing and sharing my thoughts. I better go ahead and start instead of thinking I have to be perfect at it for it to be any good. I’m pretty sure that time will never come!
The truth is, I have convinced myself that I hate writing. But I also know it is a powerful means of influencing others and a great way to process things for myself. I love reading and am daily challenged by the things I read that other people write. I pray the Lord changes my heart about writing and can actually develop a gift within me to share His testimonies through the written word. At this time, I don’t feel like I have the gift of sharing about him verbally, or maybe I just say that because it’s a lot more comfortable to sit behind my computer and ramble than it is to stand up in front of people and think on my feet, without a back space button or time to re-arrange a sentence.
Today I have written an 8 page paper, a 3 page reflection, and a letter to a friend and am currently working on this blog. I’m confused as to why I am enjoying this but I thank God He is giving me strength to power through some difficult writing and for giving me an unexpected joy in doing so! Praise Jesus!
Definitely lots going on in these last few weeks of college so hopefully be posting more thoughts soon:)
Thanks for reading and for your support. Blessings!
