We just completed week one with our ministry here in Honduras and I’ve been loving every minute of it!
This month our entire squad is living together in the same missions house in Talanga, Honduras and the seven different teams within our squad are divided up and working with different ministries during the day.
My team is working with an orphanage called New Life Children’s Home in Jalaca, Honduras.
The orphanage is run by a sweet family and their staff of tias (or Aunts) and teachers that currently care for 47 children. This past week, half of our team has been tackling the lice that has spread to almost every single girl, and the other half has been working on various construction projects around the orphanage. So far, I’ve mainly been working in the families’ house helping to build cabinets and a countertop for their kitchen. It’s been such a fun week of learning and seeing the progress that we are able to make each day.
Here’s a glimpse at what we finished up last week:
Next week we should be filling in the countertop, laying the tile and hopefully seeing the finished product!
