Almost nine months ago I was accepted to go on the World Race. It was such an exciting time and I was on cloud nine about this new opportunity to serve the Lord. It wasn’t long before the realization of fundraising set in and my fears came out of the shadows – where was I possibly going to raise 18,000 dollars?! I met with my Pastor and he assured my that if this was the path God was calling me to He would provide for my needs yet I still couldn’t help but worry.

So I began fundraising with a nervous heart, however it wasn’t long before I realized that God was in control, that He is my provider in everything, he is faithful and without fault. Before I knew it I was 25% funded, then 50%, and a few weeks ago I was 80% funded. This past week my church family hosted a yard sale fundraiser and God continued to show his faithfulness. The next morning at church they announced the total funds raised and I was blown away. God had provided every remaining penny.

I am fully funded. Wow.

After I picked my jaw up off the floor I began to think about the way the Lord carried my fears and anxieties and I took some time to simply be in awe Him. One time I heard someone speak about Mark 5 in which Jesus brings in a young girl back to life and immediately she hopped up and walked around. Verse 43 says “at this they were completely astonished” and the speaker encouraged us to take time to be astonished at God’s work. Adore him for who He is. Marvel at the ways He has moved in your life. Stand in Awe.

Not only did God provide for my financial needs but He has blessed me beyond belief with the most incredible support system. I could not be more thankful for the  prayers, donations, time and efforts put into the fundraisers!

I encourage you to take a few moments this week to reflect on how He has moved in your life and to stand in awe.
