If there is one thing I didn’t want to happen before coming to camp, it was to be placed in an all girls group.

If there was a second thing that I didn’t want to happen before coming to camp, it was to be a team leader.

Enter Day 6 of Training Camp

Before the words were even spoken, I looked around the room at my entire squad and I knew that I was going to be placed with a group of all girls. Even more than that, when Jessica Belkot whispered in my ear to come to Warner Hall after lunch, I knew I would be leading this group of girls. I readily admit my first reaction was shock. God had been preparing my heart for both of these realities, so I had gotten my temper tantrum out of the way a few days prior, and now my body reacted by freezing up.

I didn’t have space to think; I just knew it was right. God was placing me where I needed to be.

So this is the World Race. It is a year where I have committed to releasing control, but at times I will try my hardest to grab hold once again. It is a year where I will say, No God, not this. But he will respond with, “Trust in Me.”

God has blessed me with six wonderfully beautiful, mightily empowered, joy-filled women of God (pictured above). You will be learning much more about them as we go through this unbelievable year together. I invite you to check out their blogs and get to know them as you continue to walk this journey with me. Our team name is Charis, the Greek word for Grace and I hope that our reasons for choosing this name will become more and more apparent as the year goes on.

I have included here at the end some great pictures from training camp. I would also like to note, for anyone I may have scared with my posts about training camp, it was a great week! I didn't get what I thought I wanted, but thats because God's plan was so much bigger. I loved camped and am incredibly thankful for it. It gave me the space to fall madly in love with My Heavenly Daddy and form unbreakable bonds with the people I will be traveling with. It is something to look forward to, I promise.

There was a waterfall on the Toccoa Falls campus!
    180 feet tall

J Sqad on top of the falls!                                                              This is how we worship

Hey this looks familiar. A little bit of home even at camp (the picture on the right is a picture of my roommates from college). Happy to welcome J Squad into the family

Sqad wars…things got serious

I mean REALLY serious

Last but certainly not least, devotion time

A quick glance at training camp…now off to the next adventure: soaking in as much of home as possible before I leave.
