In a community that is entirely made up of Buddhists, a church sponsored school that teaches English is the only Christian presence this village has ever known. Although Christianity is not yet welcome inside the school, this school stands as a stepping-stone for people to learn about Christ. As Christians, we are told to look for “the lost” and minister to them (Matthew 15:24); however, so often these communities stay in the dark. But I am overjoyed to tell you that this month we saw how God is reaching his hand out to his lost sheep and bringing them back to the herd! These are the stories that need to be told; the ones about how new believers around the world, especially in Cambodia, are standing up in their faith, going to their families and friends and telling them about Jesus and thus, making believers out of even more people! I hope you enjoy their testimonies.
*PLEASE NOTE: I made a mistake in the video. I said that Cambodia was primarily Muslim; however, I was mistaken. We go to so many countries with different languages that I accidentally mixed the religions up. Cambodia is primarily Buddhist, which is why it makes sense that I said a temple is right down the road from the village. Please excuse my mistake.

Here’s a video I made to talk about these stories
***CLARIFICATION FROM THE VIDEO. At one point in the video I am talking about the dorm girls. I wanted to take a minute to explain that a little better. So you know how I mentioned that people have to go to the capital to learn about Christianity? Well, because this is the case, New Life Fellowship has two dorms (a girl and a boy dorm) so that people from the villages have some place to stay while they are learning more about God. We were living at the girls’ dorm, so we were surrounded by these incredible new believers. Now, the teacher I was speaking about that works at the school, lives in the same village as 4 of the dorm girls. And so what I was trying to say is that because he was bold enough to go back to his home and speak about Christ to that Muslim community, I know at least these 4 girls (I’m sure some men too) were influenced and are now believers! Praise be to God for how he works in us and through us!
Oh wow and I almost forgot to mention the coolest part of this story. When we were in Malaysia, my team did a prophecy night for each person on the team. During my night Lynn said she saw a pictures of houses that are built on sticks. She saw a village of those houses on a dirt road. Well at the time I had no idea what that meant. But it turns out that was a picture of the village I taught at! The houses are built on stilts so that the people have a cool place to retreat to in the summer (they typically have beds set underneath the house so they can rest during the day). Just as I thought, God was leading me to work at this village all along.
How great is our God!
