To say this summer has been wonderful would be an understatement. I would describe it more as magical and two Sundays ago was no different.

Sunday, August 26th I was surprised with a huge goodbye party. Beyond the blessing of formally saying goodbye to family (this includes my immediate, extended, church, and friends who are all considered my family), I was also given this incredible keepsake that can easily fit into my pack (a very fortunate reality since you've already seen my pack in my last blog, and their is simply no more room to fit anything else).

I've said it before, but I will say it again, THANK YOU ALL SO SO SO SO SO MUCH! This summer has repaired me AND prepared me in ways I didn't even know I needed. When I signed up for this trip I thought it meant leaving everyone behind for a year; but if this summer has taught me anything, it is that you've always stayed with me and now will be no different. I love you all so much and I can't wait to go on this journey with you!

Please enjoy this final salut from my family and friends. World here I come!

P.S. I leave for Chicago (to meet with the rest of my squad)….today. Then I leave for the Dominican Republic, my first location, soon after. If you would like to keep in touch with me please continue to write on my blog or send me an email at jacquiemorges at gmail dot com (I heard the computer likes to send you spam mail if you write it out online— thanks JQ).
