Month 1 down!! Cambodia was too sweet!
I believe Acts 17:28 sums up my time in Cambodia, it says “ for ‘ In him we live and move and have our being ‘
Life to the Full is just knowing the Father and his heart for us. So often we are ready to serve the Father but he just wants us to sit and hang out with him. To truly learn our value, we cannot believe we are a sinner or trash and also believe we are forgiven. During my time in Cambodia, the Father has shown me some specific times in my life where I thought I was too broken or sinful but in reality He was showing me how deep His grace goes. Cambodia was such a time of further intimacy between me and God. Learning what it means to worship with my heart and not just with my lips.
If we focus on just being Gods child, living, and moving with the Father is ministry it self. When you know who’s you are, His spirit just bleeds into every facet of your life. Moving with God is the only way we met Douk in Siem Reap, and many others at our hostel and got to share who God is to us and hear their story as well.
Cambodia itself left a mark on me as far as how resilient they are. The people are generous, hardworking, and strong. Despite the civil war that took place only 40 years ago, they are moving forward and developing more and more. Cambodians understand Kingdom for that is how there government is set up. I have no doubt that God will continue to bring His kingdom to Cambodia through the people that are willing to be used by Him. Hearts are changing and I am blessed to witness it and have a small part to play. Cambodia was so good but it was time for us to move forward into Thailand!
Travel Days have been brutal. 8 hour bus ride to Bangkok, Thailand and that does not count the 4 hour wait through customs from Cambodia to Thailand. Our whole Squad was drenched in sweat and now have an “S” for a spine because of carrying our packs for so long. But hey we made it Dawgs!
Bangkok was so cool, very modern, and also I am the ultimate jay walker now. I don’t believe in cross walks anymore. Bangkok was awesome to get with the whole squad and rest and share what we experienced in Cambodia.
But… Now the team and I and our Squad Leader William Reece Holland are in the Nong Khai Province. We asked God where we should be and He had just old us east but not a specific destination. He told us it will be a meandering journey.
This province is right on the border of Laos and it is super rural. We have no connections, but the house we are renting for a few days is owned by the only christian in that area. Her name is Sarisa and she has a son named Joshua and they are renting out there house as an Air BNB. Just divine appointments that God has created. From the get go Sarisa has been such a wonderful host, cooking for us, setting up travel for us into towns and village. Sarisa has wanted People to know Jesus in her village, and often talks about wanting missionaries to start a church in Nong Khai. However the more and more the team is praying for her and her house it seems we are here to encourage here to start a church in this village. It has been too rad to have Her join our bible studies and worship time, because it seems She has needed some encouragement to continue seeking God. I believe God is rising up Sarisa to be the church in Nong Khai, it is just timely with the home she is building to have ministry happen in there. Friends keep her and her son and her home in prayer.
This month has been so unscripted << (cheesy I know)
Friends let us be teachable and learners of God, He has so much for us.
So far what is next, we don’t know, but leaving room for the holy spirit to speak to us is key.
