I know I missed posting in January and that was kind of on purpose. I didn’t know what to write about. I had been struggling of what God was revealing to me amongst all the hostility in the World and country. As most of you who are my friends on Facebook, I have been vocal about being against the immigration ban that Trump signed. It is not because of my political stance, but my stance of human dignity. A lot of people have just been posting and saying they are against it, but that has brought up a call to action.
This call to action has really hit me long before this ban. To help refugees is the main reason I picked the route to the 10/40 window. The countries we will be going to have a higher chance of working with refugees fleeing from the wars and hostility in their countries.
As I was praying and reading about going on the race something struck me. I was in the book of Ezra chapter 1. As I was thinking about how King Cyrus of Persia was stirred by the Lord, it dawned on me he was not a Jew. How did he know the Lord? Even if he didn’t know God he still acted upon what the Lord was speaking to him. This hit me like a ton of bricks. He was actively now helping the Jews who were in deplorable conditions and gave them hope to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem.
This was a call to action for Cyrus. He gave back all that Nebuchadnezzar had taken from Jerusalem. Just as Cyrus was stirred by the Lord to act for marginalized Jews I have felt a call to the people in need of the 10/40 window.
