I love to skateboard. There’s something about it that bring me peace. I love skating, watching others skate, looking through skate magazines and checking out who’s doing what within the skate community, etc. I think my favorite part of the magazine was reading the “Top 5” of my favorite professional skateboarders.

 

Since I’m nearly done with this journey, I thought I’d make up a Top 5 list and share with you some highlights! These aren’t necessarily my actual 5 favorite, but more like memories and events that have happened on this journey. So here’s my top 5!

  4. In my tent in the middle of a corn field in Swaziland.

  1. Any beach in Thailand.
  2. Gold Beach off the coast of the South China Sea in the Philippines.
  3. Lake Victoria in Uganda.
  4. In between three volcanoes in Guatemala.
  5. Alberto’s swimming pool in El Salvador

 

Top 5 Near Death Experiences:

  1. Nearly getting smashed by an on-coming semi in Nicaragua.
  2. Nearly tipping over the cliff side on the bus in Guatemala.
  3. Every time getting bit by a mosquito in Africa.
  4. Catching a Black Mamba in Uganda.
  5. Team times.

 

Top 5 Hardest Moments on the Race:

  1. Saying goodbye to my mom and dad in the beginning of the journey.
  2. Saying goodbye to my former team, Kingdom Unleashed in Nicaragua.
  3. Seeing the poverty in the Philippines.
  4. Culture shock in Kenya.
  5. When I have to say goodbye to the 60+ people on my squad at the end of this journey who have become my family during this 11 month, 11 country adventure.

  1. Rafting the Nile River.
  2. Eating fried tarantulas in Cambodia.
  3. Celebrating New Years on a rooftop in Thailand.
