I'm in Kenya!!!
It's a dream come true.
I've always wanted to go to Africa.
The weather is cool and soothing,
the mountains are amazing,
the people are wonderful,
and God is moving.

My team has the honor of working alongside a humble pastor name Stephen and his family who own a home that is the sanctuary for 20 orphans called Beloved International. It's been a humbling journey, and I want you to meet these beautiful kids and hear their stories. These are the children I have the wonderful privilege of serving here in Kenya.

Margaret

Affectionately called Maggie, lost her mother to AIDS. With no father to speak of, her grandmother stepped in to help. Because her grandmother would work as a prostitute within her village, Maggie would often be the victim of her grandmother’s own business and endured a history of sexual abuse. Eventually her grandmother was unable to provide for Maggie’s basic needs. Thus the Njoroges in partnership with Beloved International adopted Maggie in April 2011.

Agnes

Agnes lost her mother to AIDS. After suffering repeated abuse at the hands of her own alcoholic father, Agnes eventually lost him to AIDS as well. She and her little brother, Wilson, bounced from orphanage to orphanage. They were adopted into the Njoroge family in partnership with Beloved International in December 2010. She loves to be around Mama Jane and helps her with all kitchen, cleaning and cooking duties.

Patricia

Patricia lived with her single mom and sister, Jane. When her mother died from AIDS, Patricia and Jane went to stay with their uncle. Living far below poverty, their uncle could no longer care for them. Patricia was adopted into the Njoroge family in partnership with Beloved International in December 2011.

Harun

Harun was 4 years old when his mother died from AIDS. Soon after, his father was sent to prison for raping Haron’s older sister. Haron and his brother lived with their grandparents, but often went without food. Haron developed an interest in school because he would often receive more food from school than at home. In December 2010, Haron was adopted by the Njoroge family in partnership with Beloved Internatiional.

Mary

Mary is the second child of pastor Stephen and his wife Jane. She can be found running through the home with her infectious personality and fun-filled giggle.

Wilson

Wilson relied on his older sister, Agnes, as his only family after losing both parents to AIDS. With relatives unable to provide for either of them, Wilson and his sister moved together from one orphanage to the next until the Njoroges in partnership with Beloved International adopted them in December 2010.

Daniel

Daniel never knew his father because his mother was never married. However, when she passed away from AIDS in 2010, he was sent to live with his grandmother. Unable to care for him any longer, Daniel was adopted by the Njoroge family in partnership with Beloved International in October 2011.

Jane

Jane lived with her single mom and older sister, Patricia, until her mother died from AIDS. She and her sister went to live with their uncle in a small mud hut. Living with a polygamist family, Jane and her sister lacked a traditional mother since the death of their own mother. When her uncle could no longer care for them, the two sisters were adopted into the Njoroge family in December 2011.

Brian

Brian was 2 years old when his mother died from AIDS. To survive, he and his older sister were forced to roam the rough streets of Mbushi begging for food. They were later shuffled into Kenya’s government-run orphanages. In December 2010, Brian was adopted into the Njoroge family in partnership with Beloved International.

Jael

Jael lost both parents to AIDS. Having first lost her mother, her father locked her and her younger brother Clinton, in a shed before abandoning them. A passerby heard their screams and brought them to the Njoroges. She was adopted into the Njoroge family in partnership with Beloved International in October 2011. Although she and Clinton reside from Mount Kenya and hold a different lingual dialect, they have been able to communicate with their new brothers and sisters well and were able to transition into the loving home very quickly.

Clinton

Clinton and his older sister, Jael, lost their mother to AIDS. Soon after, they were locked in a shed and abandoned by their father who had contracted AIDS as well. Not having eaten for days, they were found screaming for help and were rescued by a good samaritan. The Njoroge family adopted Clinton in partnership with Beloved International in October 2011. Although Clinton had endured a traumatic childhood, he learned how to smile again once he came to the home and befriended Barnabas.

Barnabas

Barnabas is the fourth child of Stephen and Jane. He is by the far the friendliest and jolly child in the home. You can often find him hanging with Clinton exploring the yard for new creatures to bring back home.

Clement

Clement lost his mother to AIDS in 2011 and was the only child to a single mother. He lived with his grandmother but she was unable to provide for his daily needs. After hearing about Beloved Rehoboth Chidren’s Home, she believed if Clement could be a part of Beloved Rehoboth Children’s Home he would have a better future. Clement was adopted by the Njoroges in April 2012.

Joseph

Joseph’s story was all too familiar. He was the son to an ailing mother. She would pass away in 2011 to unknown reasons. However, what was unknown to Joseph was presumed to be by AIDS to the rest of the community. Although his grandmother tried to raise him for the first year after his mother’s death, she became to old to work and could not provide for either of them. Joseph was adopted into the Njoroge family in April 2012 in partnership with Beloved International. Joseph is one of the fastest kids in the home and an avid soccer player. We first found him clinging to his patched up soccer shoes but was later.

Veronica

When Veronica was only 2 years old, her single mother passed away from AIDS. Veronica has since lived with her grandmother. However, after eight years of caring for her granddaughter, Veronica’s grandmother could no longer provide adequate care for Veronica. The Beloved Rehoboth family learned about Veronica’s predicament because she and her grandmother live in their neighborhood. In fact, Veronica already attends the elementary school with several of the Beloved Rehoboth children. She was adopted into the Njoroge family in partnership with Beloved International in August 2012.

Judy

Judy was adopted by the Njoroge family in partnership with Beloved International in August 2012. In the past four years, Judy has lost both of her parents to AIDS. Since that time, Judy and her three siblings have been scattered to different families. Judy’s older sister and older brother are living with a nearby relative while Judy and her younger sister lived with their grandmother. However, her grandmother could not handle the burden of raising them. Therefore, the Beloved Rehoboth family took Judy into their home. The Rehoboth family plans on adding Judy’s younger sister (who is currently only four years old) into the family in the next year.

Margaret

Margaret is the third child of Stephen and Jane. Although she is shy, you will often find her joining in on the fun in the fields whether it's playing with the other girls or hanging with mama Jane in the kitchen.
