Before we even took our first breath God already knew our names. Even before our first breath God knew what we would become. Even before our first breath God put us in a maze. When we were born our maze started. There’s a reason why it takes nine months give or take a few weeks for birth. During those months God is preparing us for battle. God equips us with everything we need to finish the maze. A maze is filled with a lot of dead ends but with only one way out. Life is the same way; we face dead ends every day. We come face to face with the enemy every turn. In a maze we often ask this question, “How am I going to get out of here?” Take that same question and apply it to life. Also, ask, “What turn will I take next?” It’s good to ask for help in times where we struggle. In life we need to ask for help, we can’t do it on our own.
The other day a few others and I ran into a guy who was sitting in a plastic chair outside his house. He stops us to chat and begins to tell us about whom he is and what he does. Toward the end of the conversation was when my body, my mind and my heart stopped but in the good way. I thought, “Did I just hear what this man said?” He told us that we need to rely on ourselves to for things to happen, not Jesus.
When he said that, the Holy Spirit inside me took a leap from within.
We must rely on the hands that created us. We must rely on our Jesus. In life where we turn the wrong way, we must ask Jesus for help. Even though he knows what’s going on in our lives, he still wants us to ask him for help, and to chat with. Taking that step, he will then start to lead us in the right direction, the direction to the only way out of the maze!
Did Jesus do it on his own?
