Launch was great. I was able to reconnect with all of my squad mates that i haven’t seen in a few months. I had a lot of fun doing various activities with them. It was also really nice to have my mom with me and be able to have some last one on one time before i go. It really amazed me how close and friendly everyone was with each other right from the minute we met. It was like no time at all had come between training camp and now. I was shocked at how many people remembered my name and were sincerely interested in what has been happening to me in between.

As we got closer to launch I kept on getting asked the question “Are you ready?”. As people asked me that the only thing I could think of was my bag is packed and that is pretty much all I can do. The rest is up to what God makes me ready for.

Launch day:

We woke up super early, packed our bags and prayed that they weren’t over weight. We all got on shuttles to the airport and hung out there until it was time to get on the plane. All of us boarded the plane and were getting super excited for Costa Rica. We took off, landed, and headed out to our ministry locations. My team is with another team called The Wild Flowers. We are in San Pedro helping with a christian church/school. As we showed up they blessed us with some amazing food of mexican rice and refried beans. After lunch we did some orientations. We got to meet the people we will be working with and a tour of the school and where all the important things are. All of us then got settled in and I took a nap. When I woke up, some of my team mates where running around. I soon found out that they were playing hide and go seek with a local boy named Steven. Obviously I joined in. It was a lot of fun. He told us of other fun ways to play the game and all of us that were included had a blast hanging out and playing with him. After that we sat down and did some team time stuff. When all that was finished we got ready for bed excited to start our work tomorrow. I am so glad to have finally started this journey and see where God will take me, on the planet and with my walk with Him.
