I just got a new camcorder and I’m super stoked.  Since I dropped the cash I’m committing to doing at least one interview in each country we visit.  I think video will be a great tool to share with all of you the stories of the people we meet.  I’m practicing making a video post here.  The video you see is my friend Chris trying out the camera in the church conference room.  You’ll hear me in the background talking to my brother Ben about how my Dad’s lease is up on his car so he’ll be driving my truck while I’m gone.  The star of the show, however, is Wesley, Ben’s 11 month-old son.  The climax of the video comes when Wes says “Hi”.

Also great news that I have not yet shared:  We got our first ministry assignment a while back.  On Sept. 28th the G-Squad will fly from LA to Manilla, spend a few days doing some more training, and then my team (Team Quake) and Team Transformers will fly down to another island in the Phillipines and work with Kids International Ministries (KIM) in Mindanao, Phillipines.  The rest of our Squad will be working with KIM in Manilla. Lastly, on Sept. 10th the first of what will be about a monthly column that I write over the next year ran in The Sanford Herald, a local paper here in Seminole County.  In this first installment I tried to set up a reference point for my World Race journey.  In just over 600 words I tried to articulate a thirst for something bigger.  You can check it out at mysanfordherald.com in the opinions section.
