Family and friends,

It is with joy and trepidation that I tell you I’ll be traveling to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on Thursday morning to meet a team of other World Race alumni.  From there we will travel to the Haiti/DR border to serve and establish contacts for future short-term mission trips to be sent by AIM.

I am excited to be making the journey to help people in need.  At first I would tell people I was going to Haiti with a smile and I felt bad.  It felt a little too morbid to be excited about visiting a land where the death toll is countless.  But really I’m excited to serve.  I’m excited that when people are confused and hopeless I have an opportunity to bring hope and life.  So I am not ashamed or embarrassed that I am excited to go to Haiti.  I hope I get to carry the love and prayers of all of you when I go.

When we go we will serve in some border towns.  We will be working in a hospital.  We will be gathering information and contacts so AIM can continue to send short-term teams on a long-term basis.

I bought a round-trip plane ticket with the help of a great supporter who happens to be my Father.  You can still give to help pay for some of our ground transportation and any ministry costs we have while we are there.
