On Sunday I returned home to Orlando from WR Training Camp with the June 2010 squad – the squad for which I will be a leader.  This was the second Training Camp I have attended since I got back from my own World Race.  I helped on the Serve Team when the January 2010 squads were preparing for Launch.  At both camps it was great to see others walk where I had walked before, encountering new depths of God’s heart and His Spirit for the first time.

This camp was even more special.  Beginning in a couple weeks I will be traveling with 52 amazing young folks.  My co-leader, Jenny Brown, and I will be shepherding them as they pursue more of God’s heart.  Will try to share some of our experience, listen to the Lord, and intercede on their behalf as they serve around the world and experiment with community.  The Lord had been growing my heart for these people for weeks leading up to camp.  Now I have faces to put with the affection the Lord has given me.

Over the past couple days my new friends on the June “O” Squad have been all over Facebook.  The Lord has awoken a love in them for one another that reminds me of the family bonds that my own squad began to form almost two years ago.  The June Squad is excited because they know God has big things coming for them in the next year, but they have no idea what it will look like.  I am excited for them because I know God has big things coming for them, and I have a small idea what it could look like.

We launch June 16th.  For old time’s sake, here is a video from my first squad’s (Oct 08) launch:
