This story is a testimony of God’s mighty power. The night after my healing, I decided I wanted to go for a run. I asked my good friend Emily Molloy if she would like to run with me. Being an all-star runner that she is, I knew she would help me but challenge me at the same time.

Note: Back in February, in El Salvador, I ran 6 blocks. Before this it has been several years since I have ran. The last time I sprinted was in high school.

We started off running down the street not knowing that this would be one of my favorite moments on the race. As Emily and I ran, I told her that my goal was to run for six minutes. Then we would just walk back to our hostel and check in for the night.

After five minutes, Miss Emily spoke up and said ”Jake, whenever you want to stop just let me know.” I just told her that I was good and kept running. I was pumped up or maybe just a runners high but my senses where heightened.

I noticed the cool, night wind blowing on my sexy legs. I noticed the lady in the trolly singing her heart out like no one was noticing.  I noticed the cracks on the pavement, wondering how many people have stepped here today. I noticed how Emily was breathing, trying to match her breaths. Remembering there is a strategic way on how to breath while running. The most amazing thing I noticed was that I was RUNNING!

For some reason I felt like I was getting stronger and I started to sprint for a small distance. Emily and I didn’t talk much from the time I started sprinting to the time we finished. There where a just a few small sniffles from her. Also if the streets where silent you might have even heard a few tear drops hit the pavement from both of us.

“Emily next red light then we are done,” I said. Seeing that the next light was about 500 feet away, I started sprinting faster and faster. When I reached the light, it was only 3/4 of a mile but you would had thought I won the Iron Man. I hugged my friend with a sense overwhelming joy. I was so happy that there was someone to share that experience with me.
