“If I could share one message with the world, what would it be?”
Well. This is the reality.
You live your life, you experience joy, and you experience grief. You make memories as a child, you learn many things as a teen, you mature as an adult, and you reflect as an elder. You have been blessed with a good life — an abundantly good life.
Then you die. Yes, you will die. And on that day you will look straight into the eyes of Jesus Christ, your maker. The one who gave you the simple yet wonderful gift of your life. In that instance it doesn’t matter if your good deeds outweigh your bad ones. It doesn’t matter if you went to church on Sunday or if your mother was a Christian. It doesn’t matter if your occupation was a garbage man or the president of America. It doesn’t matter if you got A’s in school or C’s. It doesn’t matter if you played sports or if you were in band. It doesn’t matter if you were deaf, mute, blind, or perfectly healthy. It really doesn’t matter if you’ve traveled the world on a missions trip or if you’ve never left your home town. It doesn’t matter how good or how bad you think you had it.
Because the moment you look into His eyes, everything fades away. The only thing that remains is the way you loved Him. On that day will He look at you as if looking at a stranger? Will He command you away from Him because He never knew you? OR when you look at His face will He say: “Now there’s a familiar face. I’ve been waiting so long for this day. Welcome to your new home, my beloved friend!”
I’m not going to sugarcoat it — either you will be forever with Jesus in His kingsom, or you will spend an endless eternity in damnation. This is the urgency of the Gospel; this is the reality of your life. The greatest gift you have received is not not a passing pleasure on earth, but it is the ability to know Jesus intimately.
So if I could share one message with the world it would be this:
Jesus is waiting for you, whether or not you are His friend. When the day comes, will He know you very well or will He not even recognize you? How much more worthwhile life becomes when you know Jesus as a friend. I’ll be praying for you.
His messenger,
Jaclyn
