This month, ministry has been different. In India and Nepal, we did a lot of prayer walks and preaching. That’s all we really could do because the spread of the Gospel is hindered by laws and regulations. Here in Zimbabwe, however, the Gospel is able to be spread freely. My team and I are working with the Scripture Union organization. Our goal is to go into schools and teach the kids about life, but more importantly, God.
My team and I have been here for only a couple weeks, but we have already been to many schools and discipled many children. Yesterday, we went to a school with about 150 kids. Well, it may have been a little less or more than that, but it was hard to tell when we were getting mobbed. It was dude’s day, and so Bo, Rodrigo, and I taught the kids about David and Goliath. (I was Goliath by the way.) After we finished teaching the children, we made a mistake. We decided to play a game. The game’s actual name is Mingle Mingle. What I call it now is a lot more accurate: Get the Gringos. Basically, everyone is supposed to run around, and then when someone calls out a number, you have to get a group of that many people. What ended up happening is, when we started the game, all the kids just ran to us. The other guys and I were surrounded by about 40 kids each. There was no escape. There was only children. After many lost arm hairs, and head hairs for that matter, we were able to escape the children. While we were nursing our wounds, the kids were laughing. We brought joy to those children. That is the ministry this month. We are bringers of life, joy, and Jesus this month. Our methods and ministry have changed from the last two months, but the end goal is the same. We are spreading the love of Jesus around the world.
