If you’re reading my blog for the first time I want to give you a little summary of what God’s doing in my life. I will be going on the World Race which is an 11-month mission trip to 11 countries. It’s a mission trip created by an interdenominational organization called Adventures in Missions (AIM).  The countries I am going to are India, Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador & Colombia.

I will be one of the two representatives, of our squad of 49, that will be serving in leadership for a ministry called Beauty for Ashes (B4A). This ministry is to empower women to break silence from shame (in sin, aids, sex trafficking, prostitution, rape, etc.) and calling them out to be the women God calls them to be. My squad of 49 people is broken down into 7 teams of 7 people and we spread out through the country we will be ministering for that month. Each team is assigned a ministry for the month. During the 11 months there will be a month were our entire squad is together. Other months we will work with other teams or our teams will be working alone.

This mission trip’s purpose is to create an intensive discipleship program designed to launch my generation into our specific Kingdom calling. In other months our assignments can include serving in partnership with several churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bringing restorative hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.

The first country I am going to is India. For all those that don’t know I will be leaving this August 3rd and staying in Atlanta, GA until August 7th. I will be training for a couple of days before I take off to India. I will be arriving to India August 8th and the following day is my birthday. Mark Twain states, “The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why”. I am most excited that this year I celebrate both; my birth and my purpose. I will be missing my family but I am so grateful I have been able to spend “alone time” with all my favorite people. I have shared my goals, my triumphs and the challenges I will face.

India brings so much excitement and wonder. Please keep me in your prayers as I transition from a 9-5 life to a Jesus-filled ministry job, 24/7. The ministry assigned for the month is Unsung Heroes. We get to look for new contacts for AIM. This means we get dropped off in a large city, pray to God for guidance and find the person He wants us to work with for that month. It means we don’t have a host, a home and we need to cook for ourselves.

I get to truly live in biblical times. Like the prophets and the apostles. Letting God tell me what’s next, hearing His voice and embracing the unknown. Matthew 13:9 talks about this stating “He who has ears to hear, let him”. To me this mean so much. Yes, Jesus talked in parables but that was to have the people that were truly in it be the ones that hear. This means we can hear God’s voice but we need to listen. We are a chosen generation that needs to be willing to tap into the heavenly realm to do God’s work in earth. One of our common ways to speak with God will be through listening prayer. It’s what it states it is. We hear God instead of having a one-way conversation with Him. How do you recognize someone’s voice unless you have a relationship with them? This is what I get to do with God for my first month. I get to hear Him by learning to know His voice first.

I used to think that the life I was living as a Christian was enough but now I know I want to live in fullness. This means following God even in the unknown, walking in faith and not by sight. With that said I believe God is calling the few that are willing. You don’t start with boldness but you walk into it. I hear the words resonate of Luke 10:2, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field”. If you’re able, GO! If you are willing, START! If you can’t go, HELP! Help with prayer, help with sponsoring or help with what you can offer. The harvest is plenty but the workers are few means there’s so many people that we need to SAVE but not enough people helping. So, SEND help by getting involved. SEND HELP by doing something, anything! You don’t need to travel far. Share Jesus at work, model Him in your life, Missions should be in your life without having to be abroad. The mission starts at HOME. Your life might be the ONLY Bible someone reads.
