Hello Family & Friends!

I want to share a PRAISE Report; I am FULLY FUNDED!!!

I want to take the time to thank you for being the vessel that God used to help me be here. This race is not mine alone but I represent each one of you on the field. When I was getting ready for the race I tried fundraising the money by myself, but soon noticed I couldn’t do it on my own. My family and friends stepped in by donating their time, their resources and their money to help me get here. I soon ran out of time and was off to the field. I kept seeing God’s goodness in my life throughout this trip. I wanted to bring about $5,000 worth of savings on the field with me, but life happens. I had to pay for things that I thought insurance would cover or buy things others had promised me they would donate and couldn’t after all (i.e. my medication & backpacking gear).  I was left with about $1000 in my bank account 1 week prior to the race. On my last weekend before leaving I heard God tell me to donate $500 to the denomination my church was part of. I won’t lie…I freaked out! I wanted to be obedient so I told my parents and they partnered up with me to pay half. The following day after I gave this offering I was blessed with over $1000 in donations from my church.

On month 2 of the race I was sick and had to spend about a week at the doctor. I had an infection on my foot from a spider bite and they would not let me out of the doctor. At this time, I was having to eat at the hospital, pay for medication and pay for my co-pay. I still had a balance due on my World Race account but I was limited with money to pay the remainder. I had only raised $10,000 and there was $7,617 remaining. I didn’t have enough personal money to cover the cost. I had received recurring donations from my church and my former boss, so I started putting it all into the Race. I had to trust that God would provide, and again I saw His provision. Again, this happened on month 4. I reached a new deadline where I needed to be funded $13,000 and I was suddenly hit with gastritis. I was in pain for about a week and had new doctor bills to pay. God kept showing up through all of this and continued helping me meet deadlines.

I was able to keep up with the expenses of the race as well. You see, I have to provide my own personal items during my time on the field (i.e. shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste etc.) On travel days or off days I need to pay for food that may be expensive (i.e. airports or city food). When things have been worn out I need to buy new clothes because sometimes hand washing makes our clothes see-through. Other times during the month my team likes to go on an adventure day since we are in beautiful countries that have much to offer. An example of this would be when we went to see Angkor Wat which was less than $40. We were able to see one of the Wonders of the World during our time in Cambodia which made it fun, but tight on my budget. Add unexpected medical expenses (consultations and medication) to this and I was overloaded with more than I had saved up. BUT, God has always provided.

On top of this I now need to book my last flight home. We know we will leave Colombia at the end of the race, but the World Race notifies us towards the end where in the United States we will be arriving. I need to book a flight from whichever state it is to my home- California. Although, this section of the race is still not covered, I am reminded again that God will provide. I feel He has called me to a season of trust and humility. I’ve had amazing supporters that have provided for me and I know God will continue to open the doors needed by using His people. It’s hard to continue to ask for help because I have had so many people give towards the Race but I have come to understand that it’s not about me. His name gets glorified every time because I couldn’t do this on my own. I have had your financial support, your overflow of love, your constant prayers and your unfailing words of encouragement to keep me going. God has shown up through YOU!

I have been reminded of the Bible verse “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5) that is linked to Joshua 1:5 “No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. God gave this promise to Joshua days before he saw the obstacle he was going to face. See, fast forward to Joshua 3 and he is now crossing the Jordan. What I have been able to see about God is that He always shows up during our obstacles. It’s never the same miracle either even if the situation seems similar. God had opened up the Red Sea for Moses back in Exodus 14:26 but He would do it differently for Joshua. God has provided for me ALL my life with all my desires but this time He was going to do it differently. He did it through YOU. Not only was Joshua in a situation that He needed God’s help but he was in a season were God was asking Him to trust Him. The thing about the Jordan river is that there are seasons when it’s low. God could have called Joshua to the Jordan during this time so he could hop on over. What I have come to understand is God puts us in situations where we need more of Him and less of what we are able to do. I have seen Him be my Savior, my Deliverer, my Provider, my Leader and my Constant. He won’t leave me and all He asks is for me to trust Him. I know God can use anyone to provide for the next step in my race and His love through you is OVERFLOWING.

With this, I humbly ask you to consider supporting my personal finances and upcoming expenses. A little goes a long way and truly any amount would bless me.
