In December of 2014, the Lord told me, “get physically, mentally, and spiritually prepared,” at that point I had no idea why, but now I know that the World Race was the reason why. But we all know that already, what I haven’t shared is what the Lord has done since I left.
In January 2015, I went on a retreat with my mom and one night they gave everyone a letter. The women leading the retreat had done some listening prayer for those who would be a part of the retreat. Listening prayer is when you ask the Lord to reveal to you what he may have for the person in front of you or anyone you may come in contact. Well these women listen for everyone who would be there that night.
When I read my letter, I loved what it said and thought it was pretty cool, but at that point I didn’t know they had done a listening prayer and everyone had gotten a different letter.
This is a summary of what my letter read, “Daughter, you need to let go of those you love the most. If you want me to show up in there lives I need you to step aside. Abraham was willing to sacrifice his own son, because he trusted me. Trust me! Abraham loved his son, but he trusted that I had a plan and a purpose, so he let go and let me work in his life.”
So I had to let go…
I lifted up my family and gave them to the Lord. I couldn’t save them and only the Lord could and I needed to step aside. But you know how we are, we take back what isn’t ours. And I kept getting in the way.
But I told my family that I wouldn’t be home for very long, that I would be leaving soon. I had no idea what I was doing, but the Lord did.
When God told me to sign up for the World Race, I realized that I was no longer going to be with my family. The Lord had been preparing me to go away, but I didn’t know it would be for 11 months.
When I got accepted on the Race, the Lord knew my concerns and told me that He would take care of my family and I had nothing to worry about.
Well you know how our God is, He always comes through.
Before I left, my dad was a attending a church he loved and digging deeper and deeper into the Word. He heard the Lord speak to him and came home asking questions. I had never seen my dad so alive.
After I left, my mom started attending church and seeking the Lord. She now spends time in the Word and talks about the Lord all the time.
Daddy really was taking care of them and He was doing a much better job then I ever did. And He continues to take care of them. There was only so much I could do, but when I handed it over to him, he got the job done.
Now I rejoice at the fact that my family lives and loves Jesus and I pray they would fall in love with Him every single day.
If you have family or friends who you are waiting to come to the Lord. Pray for them and give them to the Lord. Let Him move and work in their lives and stand back when the Father asks you to.
