I’m trying the figure out where to begin. It’s been a while since I’ve written anything. Where did I leave off?

That’s right, Madagascar.

Well, lots has happened from then until now. I had a mini team change after Debrief in Malaysia. This was Team Cho Châ. Being on an all girls team was so great even tho it was only for 10 days. We had a ball. I mean the name alone just fell into our laps.

On our first night together as a team we wanted to make a memory, traditionally what teams do when they first get together. So, naturally, we went to get food. Haley, our Yelp Queen, found a cute place that had great reviews. But we walked around for a while looking for this exclusive place but never found it. However, we stumbled across this little quaint restaurant, Cho Châ. And under the title it read, “where good things come together”. It was perfect! And that’s where our name came from.

Let me explain how ministry will work for the next three countries. ATL, as we call it means Ask The Lord. So not like the first three months where our lodging, food, and transportation had already been booked and planned ahead by AIM. The ministry here is to seek God to see where He needs us to go. This of course made me a little nervous because I can’t say I’ve ever clearly heard God say anything. I mean, I have felt led to certain things– in fact, that’s how I ended up on the Race. He definitely led me here and continues to lead me.

As for Cho Châ, we spent our time in Malaka, Malaysia, a place where I’d definitely go back to visit. God really had plans for us in Malaka. We spent our mornings together in the Word. And prayed to see what God wanted us to do. At first, I felt like we were just wondering the streets. But we met some really great people in the most divine-styled appointment type of way. For instance, the team split up in the afternoon. Some of the girls were trying to find some food and ran into a woman who was on her way to the temple. Then we ended up running into her a few more times. We spent some time praying for her because we know God was really making it obvious that we needed to meet her.

Sometimes ATL looks different.  After Malaysia we flew to Sri Lanka. Back with Deep Wells we had to get reacquainted with each other. We spent the first few days there just relaxing. Then we headed north to the Kandy area. While we were looking for coffee shops and stuff, Baileigh just so happened to see a Bible College on the Maps App. It was in walking distance from the villa we were staying in.

That’s when we met Bernie, a professor at the college, and his wife. The school grounds were barren but since they live on the campus, they were still there. They welcomed us into their home and we sat and talked for a few hours. He put us in touch with some pastors in the southern part of the country we could do ministry with.

So we packed our bags and headed south. We went to the church and met several pastors and got lots of contacts for AIM. So, you see God just worked things out in every place we went in the last few months. I want to say that I learned to lean on Him. Of course, I know to lean on Him, but I see the importance of leaning on Him and not worrying about what comes next.

xoxo,
