Setting: the couch at a friends out just hanging out.
We’re sitting there just talking and laughing about who knows what at this point– I can’t even remember last week let alone 2 years ago…
Belle makes a comment regarding her going away party.
Everyone seems to know what she was talking about except me. So I ask, “where are you going”?
And so it begins, she starts to tell me about this company called the world race. And what she will doing all next year. “You should totally come with me!!” At this point, even though I was on the edge of my seat in excitement for her, it was too late for me to even think about this type of beast. God was saying, “wait, this isn’t your time.”
Fast forward to this year, one night back in July as I was lying in bed I said to God, “I want more for my life, a change in my life. What can I do?” My next thoughts were of my friend, Belle, who served on the World Race in 2014. I asked God if this was Him speaking to me. And of course, I didn’t hear an immediate response. But the next morning, that was my first thought when I woke up and all throughout the day. I sent Belle a text asking her about her experience. She said it was life changing. Look at God!
So now, I’ve accepted the call to race in this upcoming January’s race!!! I’m ready, I’m nervous, and I’m anxious. I know that God is going to do so much work on me and the people who I will be witnessing to. I can’t wait to see what he has in store. Here’s to my first blog entry in life.
