So I'm starting month 3 on the Race, and you may want to know what I have been up to!

Sorry these photos are so belated! It is very difficult to post photos from here!

In Jan, I was in a small Mayan town in Guatemala, called Xenacoj.  It's an impoverished area in the mountains.  We fed school children, visited widows to give them food and pray with them, and spent time with the community at funerals and in central square.  We worked with a great man, named German, who has an incredible heart for his community.

Here are some photos:

German, our incredible host

One of the widows we visited, Graciela.  Her young daughter had just run away the night before with her newborn, which we were not aware of.  Graciela was distraught, and our coming was a divine appointment from God.

One of the other widows, Maria Faustina.  She lives in a very rural area and just lost her husband less than 2 months ago.  Most of her time goes into watching the chickens and being with her adult children.

A funeral, one of the 3 we attended during our short time there.  We were even paulbearers at one of these funerals, since missionaries are respected by the town and they had felt the joy and love we had for their community. It was an honor

Fundraising update:  I still need about $4,000 to be fully-funded! If you feel called to help out, please click the "support me" link on the left!  Thanks for all your help – it makes so many of these incredible things possible!
