I type from a Best Western across the street from the airport in Managua, Nicaragua. I am hours from completing this journey that I embarked on 9 months ago. Today I left the island of Ometepe, tomorrow I return home to my family. The end of this journey is finally here.

I am not overcome with emotions right now. I am actually very peaceful in this hotel lobby. My departure from, or should I say, entry into the next phase of life has not come a moment too soon.

Although I am returning to America, I feel as though now I am being sent out into the world. I get to apply what I have experienced on this trip and, more importantly, I get to apply what He will continue to teach me upon my return home. God has provided me with this time to serve, learn, sit and listen at His feet, and to make a conscious decision to enjoy life with Him each day. What a joy!

I am so grateful for those who supported me financially and in prayer. This has been an experience that I don’t think I will ever be able to adequately put into words, but I promise to try my best when you ask me, “How was your trip?”.

Here’s to the past 9 months, the next however-many years of life we get to live, and the day when we are finally rejoicing together with the Father.

Thank you,

Jack Sentz
